Camps

From their song lyrics to their Color War activities, unique rituals and customs lie at the heart of all camps. These traditions establish a powerful sense of community, drawing campers to return each summer.

Mike's training sessions focus on helping all campers develop a deep sense of belonging. Staff members will better understand their role in supporting campers as they acclimate to unfamiliar settings and new experiences.

Timing: Mike typically conducts trainings during your pre-camp staff orientation period. However, his workshops are equally valuable during staff meetings that precede a new session or start week.

Participants: His workshops are for your entire staff or for your CITs as part of their training.

Content: As your staff processes the activities, Mike can focus discussion on any combination of the following:

    • Clearly communicating routines, procedures, rules, and expectations
    • Establishing rapport with campers
    • Developing and articulating a shared sense of mission and focus
    • Preventing bullying at camp
    • Learning team-building exercises for staff and campers
